Living Irrawaddy Dolphin Project – Protecting Myanmar's dolphins and heritage
Living Irrawaddy is a social business whose mission is to protect Myanmar's Irrawaddy dolphins and the unique heritage of cooperative fishing – where fishermen and dolphins communicate to catch fish together. They do this by supporting local communities to operate community-based ecotourism and manage dolphin conservation zones. A portion of their income is set aside to support dolphin conservation activities.
Why are donations needed now?
The project's dolphin conservation and community development activities depend on income from travellers who book their tours. A drastic reduction in visitor numbers reduces their capacity to protect the dolphins. They need your support to continue to protect the Irrawaddy dolphins.
